Annie Ridd

Annie Ridd is an established Contemporary Artist living in the UK.

Annie uses drawing as a tool to explore the complexity of everyday objects and give a sense of the memories they have helped create.
Be it a dilapidated house or a dead insect, Annie’s graphite works capture each subject in forensic detail and invite the viewer to contemplate the beauty of the otherwise overlooked.

Connla Stokes

Connla Stokes is a Dublin-born, Vietnam-based writer. He currently lives in Ho Chi Minh City where he divides his time neatly between writing for money and writing for nothing. His fiction has been published online by Litro Magazine, Prick of the Spindle, Barcelona Review, Zouch Magazine as well as Eastlit, and in print by Total Cardboard (Australia), Sleepers Almanac (Australia) and Esik Cini (Turkey). Crystal Z. Lee

Crystal Z. Lee was raised in the bustling metropolis of Taipei and in an idyllic Californian suburb. The dichotomy of east and west, urban versus suburban has kept Crystal travelling for most of her life. She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Media Studies. For the past decade, she worked in the public relations departments of several Fortune 500 companies in New York and Shanghai, translating and drafting commercial press releases between the English and Chinese languages. Crystal is currently working on her first novel. When she is not writing, she is jet setting between the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Datu Abdula M. Uka III

I am Datu Abdula M. Uka III and I am from Cotabato City, Philippines. I studied Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with a minor degree in Philosophy. I like to read and write stories, essays, as well as articles. I love to write things which remind me of someone, things which make me happy, things which make me sad, things which make me remember my childhood, and whatever comes along.

Fiona Cheong

Fiona Cheong is the author of THE SCENT OF THE GODS (W.W. Norton, 1991) and SHADOW THEATRE (Soho, 2002). Her shorter work can be found in CHARLIE CHAN IS DEAD: AN ANTHOLOGY OF CONTEMPORARY ASIAN AMERICAN LITERATURE and TILTING THE CONTINENT: SOUTHEAST ASIAN AMERICAN WRITING. A native of Singapore, she presently teaches in the graduate writing program at the University of Pittsburgh.

Gonzalinho da Costa

Gonzalinho da Costa—a pen name—teaches Methods of Research in Management, and Managerial Statistics at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, Makati City, Philippines. He is a management research and communication consultant, and Managing Director of Technikos Consulting, Inc. A lover of world literature, he has completed three humanities degrees and writes poetry as a hobby.

He Junhua

He Junhua was born in 1988 in Hubei, China. He finished high school in his hometown and then came to Inner Mongolia for a Bachelor Degree of Arts. He spent four years at Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities, and began writing in October; 2008.

He is the author of over twenty short stories and fifty very short stories. He published two short story collections, Beijing Gypsy(2012, simplified Chinese edition in Beijing); Hurile and His Bicycle (2015, traditional Chinese edition in Taiwan).

He Junhua was awarded the 40th Youth Literary Awards (Hong Kong, 2014); Bingxin Children’s Literature Award (Beijing, 2015) and many other prizes.

He Junhua now lives in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, China.

Hong-My Basrai

Hong-My Basrai was born in Saigon, Vietnam. She studied in Belgium for two years. At age twenty-two she moved to Southern California and never looked back. In her memoir,Behind the Red Curtain, currently seeking an agent or publisher, she writes about the seven years she spent inside the fallen Saigon. Besides English, she is fluent in French and Vietnamese. Writing and language are her passions.

Joanne Lee

Joanne Lee is a native of Chicago, Illinois where she currently practices law as a commercial litigator. Prior to law school, she graduated with a BA in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana, with a concentration in Asian American Studies.  Joanne’s favorite poets include Ted Kooser, Kimiko Hahn and W.B. Yeats.  Although much of her current writing is catered towards the courtroom, she has been writing poetry and short-fiction since she was in high school. Jonel Abellanosa

Jonel Abellanosa resides in Cebu City, the Philippines. His poetry has appeared in numerous journals including Pedestal, Poetry Pacific, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, The McNeese Review, Philippine PEN Journal, Otoliths and Anak Sastra: Stories of Southeast Asia. He has a chapbook, “Pictures of the Floating World” (Kind of a Hurricane Press). His poetry has been selected for the 2015 Dwarf Stars Anthology, making him eligible for the Dwarf Stars Prize from the Science Fiction Poetry Association. He is working on two full-length poetry collections, “Multiverse” and “100 Acrostic Poems”; and an epic-length poem, “Sugbo,” about the islands of Cebu.

Juanita Kakoty

Juanita Kakoty is from Assam, a northeastern state in India. She writes regularly on the arts, cultures, travel, food, etc. for The Deccan Herald and The Thumb Print. Her short stories (fiction) have been published by New Asian Writing, Writers Asylum and Earthen Lamp Journal. She holds an M.Phil. degree in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and has also contributed academic articles in books, journals and seminars. Khor Hui Min

Khor Hui Min works as a book editor in educational publishing. She believes in a healthy, balanced lifestyle and loves yoga and fitness in general. In her free time, she likes to write, bake, cook and volunteer with NGOs, especially those that champion environmental causes such as the Malaysian Nature Society.

Liu Ying

Liu Ying, male, was born in Feb, 1988, ‍Jiangsu province, China. English is his first foreign language, while Japanese is the second one. Majoring in English, he received the degree Bachelor of Arts in June, 2009. For his further education, he studied Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics for three years and received the degree Master of Arts in 2012. He used to work in an international travel agency in Shanghai, China for two years. Since May, 2013, He has been teaching English in Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages in Zhejiang Province, China.

L.P. Lee

Born to a British father and South Korean mother, L. P. Lee grew up somewhere in between South London and South Korea.

Manoshij Banerjee

Manoshij Banerjee is enrolled in an Integrated M.Sc. course in Physics (currently in his fourth year) at Pondicherry University. He wants to take up creative writing as his profession. Hemingway, Bellow, Rushdie, Pasternak, Kundera, Bukowski and Lorca are his gurus. He has been published in Muse India, Southlit, ink sweat and tears and was shortlisted at the DNA-Out of Print Short Fiction contest, 2014.

Mark Crimmins’s fictions set in East Asia have been nominated for a 2015 Pushcart Prize, a 2015 Best of the Net Award, and a 2015 Silver Pen Association Write Well Award. Rimal Ilyas

I am 17 years old and am currently studying in my first year of A’levels in Pakistan.  For as long as I can remember I have adored the art of writing; how an author can manipulate and paint words to serve his/her purpose and create a profound impact upon the reader. I too strive to create a weapon out of words and some day perhaps, alter the world through them.  In my free time I enjoy reading, painting and listening to music. I aspire to attend a prestigious medical college.

Romalyn Ante was born in the Philippines but now lives in England. She has been published in variety of magazines in the UK, USA, and South East Asia.

Steve Tait

After twenty years as an EFL teacher, teacher trainer, and supervisor in Bangkok, Thailand, Steve decided it was time for a change. With his Romanian Goddess by his side, he has spent the last few years drifting through South-East Asia, hanging out in the Romanian countryside, and doing some teacher training in Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia. Steve is currently working with local English teachers in Kelantan, the rural heartland of Malaysia.

Sze-Leng Tan

Sze-Leng Tan is an academic and writer of poems and short stories. Her poems were published in The Malaysian Poetic Chronicles.

Vernon Daim

Vernon Daim was born in Taiping, Malaysia and educated in Edinburgh, UK. He writes both poetry and short stories.

Yumiko Tsumura

Yumiko Tsumura was born and educated in Japan, and earned an MFA in poetry and translations from the University of Iowa Writers workshop, as well as an M.A. in literature from Kwansei Gakuin University.  She has taught at universities in Japan and the U.S.  Her poems have appeared in numerous poetry journals such as Manoa, Winsconsin Review, Ann Arbor Review, Sou’ wester, Daybreak, Kyoto Journal, Kanto Poetry and Eastlit.  Her book of early poems, The Green Scream was published by Quixote Press, 1970.  Currently, she is compiling a collection of her previously published poems.  Her books of poetry translations include Kazuko Shiraishi’s Let Those Who Appear (2002) and My Floating Mother, City (2009) by New Directions and Tamura Ryuichi Poems 1946 -1998 (2000) by CCC Books.  In 2016 her translation of selected poems of Shiraishi Sea, Land, Shadow is scheduled to be published by New Direction.
